Position Summary:
We are seeking an Offline CNC Laser and Brake Programmer to support custom stainless steel and sheet metal manufacturing. This role focuses on offline programming of laser cut parts and brake-formed components using BySoft7 or equivalent nesting and bending software. You will collaborate closely with design, quoting, and production teams to ensure optimized production flow and adherence to customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program laser-cut parts and brake-formed components offline from customer CAD files (DXF, STEP, etc.).
- Use BySoft7, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and nesting/bending software to prepare optimized cutting and bending plans.
- Review technical drawings for manufacturing constraints, bending geometry, and flat pattern development.
- Optimize laser paths including lead-ins, micro-joints, part orientation, tilt prevention, and waste reduction.
- Simulate and program bend sequences, tooling setups, and collision avoidance for CNC press brakes.
- Continuously improve cutting parameters, bend tables, and programming efficiency.
- Coordinate laser and press brake job scheduling and assist in rush order handling.
- Communicate with estimators and clients to clarify requirements at the quoting and production stages.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in custom sheet metal fabrication and offline programming.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and BySoft7 or equivalent laser/bending CAM software.
- Familiarity with ERP systems for job tracking, work order processing, and change control.
- Ability to read and create blueprints; strong knowledge of bend allowances and GD&T.
- Industrial manufacturing environment experience preferred.
- Completion of secondary school required; college diploma in a technical field is an asset.
- Strong time management, organizational skills, and communication abilities.
