Vice President - Supply Chain Operations

Ensure our client's Distribution network is positioned to meet current and future needs by planning and delivering operational capacity and resources to support financial and sales objectives within a safe and secure workplace.

Our client will have an integrated, safe, and compliant transportation network positioned to meet current and future needs by balancing service and financial objectives.

  • Develop and implement Transportation strategies to ensure resources, processes and capabilities exist to meet both the Supply Chain and overall PA objectives.
  • Facilitate the planning and stakeholder understanding of the transportation network to ensure an efficient delivery schedule to support the Store Clock and Operations Calendar. Establish and maintain an open and transparent relationship with retail stakeholders to understand service and operational requirements
  • Oversee the execution of Canadian and International Transport operations, ensuring service/cost/capacity targets are achieved for both forward and reverse logistics.
  • Ensure that all Transport operations execute in accordance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures, regulatory, and safety objectives.
  • Identify, prospect, qualify, and negotiate agreements with the carrier and transload community. Create and ensure that Carrier and transload standard operating agreements and metrics are in place and hold carriers and transload operations accountable for said agreements.
  • Oversee the freight and duty components of cost of goods and ensure these are updated and communicated to critical stakeholders.
  • Facilitate stakeholders’ understanding of opportunities to reduce Cost of Goods by providing more efficient transportation alternatives and assisting in the negotiation of vendor freight terms.
  • Develop and implement Distribution strategies to ensure resources, processes and capabilities exist to meet both the Supply Chain and overall PA objectives.
  • Oversee the execution of Distribution operations, safety, and security of assets at all PA distribution facilities, ensuring service/cost/capacity and safety targets are achieved
  • Manage the relationships and monitor 3PL performance (excludes Transload).
  • Ensure all leadership development, learning, and labour relations programs are proactively implemented to drive high Team Member engagement and competency across all processes and operations.
  • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures that effect Distribution’s ability to execute their accountabilities are documented, known, followed, and monitored across all internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Post-secondary education Logistics, Supply Chain or a related field
  • 5 +  years’ related experience at a Senior Leader or Executive level
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Knowledge of supply chain and flow of goods
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Highly organized with an ability to prioritize
  • Demonstrated business acumen with an understanding of business priorities, challenges and direction to drive change and desired outcomes through a robust communications strategy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
